The Best Life Is The Mission Life August 4, 2015

Hey yall!
I can't believe it's already August! Holy cow! I'm already super excited for General Conference!
Here's my week:
First off. I hate chicken. Yuck. We got sick from it TWICE last week. And also memories of killing the chicken in El Paso don't help. That's all.
On Tuesday night we went to visit an investigator and had a member with us. The investigator wasn't home and so we decided to go visit a member, Hermano Chicas. It was raining and we were knocking on the door and he wasn't coming but we felt like he was there and kept knocking. Finally he answered the door and just told us that his wife wasn't there. We asked if we could share a message with him and he hesitated and was like, "I don't think you can..." but we had another woman with us so we could! We went in and it turns out that he was in a major depression because a few days earlier he had been attacked and had a gun to his head and really thought that he was going to die. He asked us if we could read Helaman 5:12 to him. We were able share some other scriptures as well and help him feel the spirit and a renewal of peace and hope. He told us that he really didn't want to answer the door but something told him that he should and he was so glad he did. What an amazing experience! It was so incredible to be lead by the spirit and to be so apparently a tool in the Lord's hands.
On Wednesday we had exchanges and I stayed in our area with Sister Mayberry, the cutest sister from Alaska that goes home in two weeks. We became instant best friends and had such a great day! We saw tons of miracles, had a blast contacting in a huge thunderstorm, and just talked each others ears off!
Bingo on Thursday was LOCO! Everyone was in a super good mood and we just laughed and laughed and laughed. It was so much fun! The workers kept walking by to see what was going on. One of the old ladies that I love, Mary, said, "I can't keep laughin...I'm gonna die!" It was so great. They asked us if we can do bingo on Fridays now, too.
On Saturday our money got refilled for the month so we decided to go out to lunch! We knocked on Sister Cupp's door (senior missionary) and invited her so she changed real fast and came with us. It was so much fun to chat with her and it turned out that she had had a crummy week and really needed it!
On Sunday we had 6 INVESTIGATORS at church! It was incredible!! It was definitely a moment where we could feel that our hard work was paying off. Sunday night we taught Luis again. They had bought this jelly bean game where you have to pick one and eat it but there is a good flavor and bad flavor that look exactly the same. It was super fun but it took a good while to get the taste of "canned dog food" out of my mouth....Hermana Bleak got "dirty sock."
We are teaching so many people and really putting in all our energy to this work and great gospel cause and we are LOVING it. I've just really been realizing lately how much I love this work. Every part of it! All the hard times just make you stronger and appreciate to good times more! It has been such a huge blessing in my life to be a missionary, to help others, to proclaim the truth and joy of the gospel, to be guided daily by the spirit, and to represent our Savior, Jesus Christ. Mission life truly is the best life! I love it, I love it, I love it!
Keep the faith! Fight the good fight!
Hermana Dearden
