Movin' On! May 27, 2015

Well folks. It finally happened. After 7 months in my quirky little baby area of Horizon City, Texas I packed my bags (more like STUFFED) and headed up to my new area in ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO! And serving with my favorite Hermana Bleak!!! It is a whole different world up here. It really feels like a different mission! I don't know any of the missionaries up here so it feels like I'm brand new again. Also we are the only sisters in the whole zone! Ah. It's so crazy. I still can't believe I'm up here. It's so nice to have a fresh start with all new everything though. It's a really big opportunity to learn and grow and to get out of my comfort zone again.
Here's my new address so y'all can send me love...smile emoticon

I don't know much about the area or branch here yet because I got here last night and we've been moving into a new apartment! This afternoon we went to an old folks home to sing to them and share a bible story with my new zone leaders and a senior couple. Then they took us out to lunch. So basically I'm already having a great time. smile emoticon
It was hard to leave behind my awesome companions, all my missionary friends, the wonderful members, and especially Jose! It didn't help that when I went to say goodbye to him my companions started singing "God Be With You Til We Meet Again." Little boogers. But he is planning on getting his endowments out in the Salt Lake temple next May so I will be there. smile emoticon
Speaking of Jose.....We killed some chickens at his house the other day. It was a horrifying experience. That's all I'll say about that.
I'm just really happy to be a missionary right now at this time of my life and in this year of 2015. It is so wonderful. I know I'm about to be stretched in lots of different ways up here (it's a city, there's tons of white people, lots of druggies and creeps and violence--don't worry, I've got my pepper spray now-- and I'll be biking!) but I am so excited!! We must have change in order to grow, right?
Keep me in your prayers, please!
Lots of Love,
Hermana Dearden

Jose!
Had to get some pics at the US/Mexico border before I left!
Nasty nasty headless chickens. I wasn't meant to be a pioneer, that's for sure!
