Happy December!! Hooray!
This week was crazy crazy crazy. On Monday night we stopped by a less active family who other missionaries had told us were really mean. Turns out they were super nice, loved us, and the 10 year old kid Jr wants to get baptized. He's already been taught just about everything so we are planning on his baptism for this month! Also him and his mom showed up at church on sunday!Wednesday at 3:30 AM we woke up to the ceiling in our kitchen leaking SUPER bad. Floor soaked too. Turns out the people above us abandoned their dogs. There was poop all over the floor and the dogs had turned the faucet on. Still hasn't been fixed yet...Thanksgiving day went down like this:-Yummy breakfast with Hermana Silva. She is a good cook!- Went to the EL Paso city parade downtown. It was raining a ton but lots of fun! We met up with members from the ward and then when the parade ended we cleaned up the trash on the streets. It was a stake thing so all the wards were assigned to specific blocks. They gave us tshirts and everything!-A member took us to golden corral for lunch. Bleh. I hope to NEVER in my live be at golden corral on thanksgiving again. It was depressing how many people were there.-Helped the same member set up her outdoor christmas tree cuz her husband just had surgery and she has problems with her hands-Went to have dinner with a family that doesnt speak english and they took us accross the street to eat with their Nigerian neighbors! It was SO cool. They hunted a 60 pound turkey for the meal. And they had to cook it or 12 hours! So good. It was an awesome experience. I probably wont ever get to eat Thanksgiving with Mexicans and Nigerians again in my life! Haha.-Went for dinner round 2 with Cynthia. All her kids were gone so it was just her and us and it was a really good time!
-Rolled ourselves out of the car and into the apartment. So much food. So much pain.Hermana Venegas may or may not have something wrong with her appendix, She has been in major pain since sunday night and yesterday I took her to the doctor on the west side. It's kinda a wait and see type of thing....So she might be getting surgery this week. Pray for us!I'm all scatterbrained and out of time! Sorry! I'll write more next week!Love yall, be good, spread Christmas cheer!Hermana DeardenPS- WATCH THIS VIDEO
