I'm 7 months old! April 21, 2015

Hey all,

First off, I love my new companion! Her name is Hermana Butler and she is from Syracuse, UT. Here's her fun facts:

-went to the Provo MTC (weird)

-did a semester at BYU

-used to work at seagull book

-her Spanish is pretty good for a greenie!

-thinks Hna Trejo & I are weirdos (true) but loves us anyways :)

We've already had some adventures. She was initiated into Horizon very quickly with another huge nasty spider in the apartment. We texted the district leader and he thinks it was a hobo spider. And told us to burn it. We did...

It's been crazy to see her straight from the MTC and realize how much Spanish I have learned in my time here! My Spanish was about the same as what hers is when I came out. I had forgotten about how hard it was to not understand anything people were saying and being completely lost all the time. I'm so grateful for how far I've come and how much Heavenly Father has helped me with the language!

Teaching has been a struggle lately. We only had 1 investigator lesson last week. I'm trying not to get frustrated or discouraged but it's definitely a challenge.. We are really trying to get more people to teach. I feel like the Lord is just testing my personal diligence right now. I know that He has people prepared for us and we just need to find them.

My prayers were answered through the scriptures this week. I read a part of a verse in the Book of Mormon that really stood out and applied to me. Then I was reading in the New Testament and there was a verse that was similar and just magnified the truth of my answer. I am so grateful that we have the Bible and the Book of Mormon together and with them the fullness of truth. The scriptures are definitely a way that God can communicate with us. I am understanding and loving them more with every passing day.

I'm learning and changing each week! The Lord truly blesses His children for their sacrifices, whatever they may be.
