Hey there!
Not too much to write today, but it was a good week.
No news on Juan yet, we were only able to see him for about 20 minutes last week. But stay tuned!
A miracle this week is that we started teaching Jackie and my goodness, that girl is so prepared!
Her boyfriend Gabriel is a member. They have a 3 month old baby named Dallen that got blessed last Sunday. She really wants Dallen to be raised in the church and to have to solid foundation in their family that the gospel provides. Jackie and Gabriel have been reading the Book of Mormon every night together and praying together every night and morning. They are planning to get married soon and then she will be baptized.

We also found Elvira again, a 17 year old, that the Hermanas were teaching before I got here but then they lost contact with her. She is the sweetest girl. And she also is on the wrestling team so that's cool. She is already good friends with 3 of the young women from the ward and is so excited to get involved in the youth activities. She is such a gem!
This past week my eyes have been opened a lot to the sadness and difficulty that there is in this world. We were visiting a member (who has been without gas in the house for 3 weeks) when a man came to shut off the electricity because the bill hadn't been paid. She has 4 kids, is single, unemployed, and just really struggling. And last night we were visiting another Hermana who lives in HALF a trailer. These are just a few examples but situations like this are all around me. It makes me so grateful and realize how truly blessed my life is. It is so sad to see these beautiful people suffer but their faith is never dulled and they are always willing to serve those around them even when they are in so much need! How incredible is that? They inspire me and motivate me every day.
Take a moment to look around at all the blessings that God has given you and thank Him for them.
Have a great week,
Hermana Dearden
